IFS 2.0 is on the CCSU system. Click on all programs, then math and then IFS 2.0. It is free to any person or institution that would like to own it. You can also download it from the downloads page of this site.
Creating images is easy. Use the images in the IFS Samples Gallery to get started. There is also a tutorial about how IFS works and how to use it. You can access both these pages from the welcome page.
Once you have created an image make sure that you save it as an ifs file. (click file and then Save IFS). I have a lot of nice images that I forgot to save the transformations for which I haven't been able to recreate. After saving the .ifs file click image and export .bmp. This will create a bitmap file of your image. Then convert the bitmap file to a .gif file. Bitmap files take too long to upload and download and take up too much storage space. The .gif files are much quicker and easier to use. Converting .bmp files to .gif files can be done with Giffy--a free program that you can download from the downloads page. Also many paint program can be used to open the .bmp file and then saved as a .gif file.
