"I can add and change pictures and text with just a few quick keystrokes, making updating the site a snap. I usually have to ask for help from one of my kids to do much of anything with a computer, but even I can handle this! Thanks again!"

How do I setup a site to allow visitors to register for new groups?| Author | | admin

A: First of all, this is a feature that is only available in the Club (multiuser) and Advanced Commerce licenses. Beyond that, here's how it works.
You need to go to the settings and make sure the "allow users to register themselves for groups" is set to True or Yes. In older versions this is the variable ENABLESELFREGISTER.
Next, you need to make sure there is at least one group with open registration. You go through the users button and edit or create a new group. This will automatically show up on the /register page of the site. (this page is created automatically) That's about it. Note that you can set a price on the registration in the advanced commerce product which will process the registration as an order.
Also, note that there are settings that determine whether there is a link on the login page. It also is possible to set the security on the /register page to be hidden. | | |
